Like: hardworking teachers and cultural diversity.
Teachers are put under loads of stress from administration, yet continue to do excel at their jobs(except for those who are not properly qualified); some ethnic backgrounds consist of Turkish, Filipino, Arabic, Mexican, African American, European descent, etc.
Dislike: administration, standardized testing, lunch food, and facilities.
The administration, although not outright, is sexist as well as quite discriminating against certain groups of students. There are excessive amounts of testing, which is unnecessary and take up teaching time. The lunch food, as stated by a faculty member, is "Unedible and disgusting." Lastly, the facilities are invasive, especially the restrooms because they do not have doors to the entrance.

I've been at this school since 7th grade and even though I never liked the change in the first place, I experienced many things that made me into the person I am today. Throughout the years of being at the school of science and technology, I have been able to strive for what I desire to become in the future, a nurse. With its teachers, I have become determined in earning the highest grades and highest GPA in my education. With its AP and Dual Credit classes, I was able to become familiar with college-level learning and was able to challenge myself. One thing that I would want the school to change is to not be really strict when it comes to anything as it has been the main complaint by many students and alumni's here. Other than that I would really recommend this school for everyone especially if you wish to be challenged academically.
SST is definitely a one-of-a-kind school. Since I've spent all of middle and high school there, I would say my review will be pretty accurate. First of all, like any student, there will be moments of ups and down but they did not come from the school itself which truly wished us success above and beyond. Any problems occurred because of some people and something like this can't be completely controlled. Shout out to the teachers who definitely weren't from them!
As for the cafeteria food, not bad. Although I wasn't too big a fan of the hot dogs, I loved the Chicken nuggets :)
One of my favorite things about the school is that it's small which allows for a close community within the school...I almost knew everyone there and it felt like a second home! SST was very respectful towards different religions and beliefs and I appreciated how some of the staff and teachers were accommodating on a personal level.
