The overall experience was great, more so because of my friends. The counselor was difficult to work with in my case because I have to admit that I was a bit of a slacker but she always scared me by staring me down and raising her voice. I had one teacher humiliate me in front of the entire class my freshman year but they fired her. The rest of my teachers were helpful and amazing people! The security was a little overboard for the kind of school that Townview is but I understand, it's their job. Other than that, the students all applied to be there so there were rarely any fights and it is an amazingly diverse school.

I love this school so much. The different tracks allow you to learn at your speed. The teachers are very nice, and the material is challenging. As stereotypical as it sounds, it feels like a family. You can rely on your classmates for help with homework and the teachers will take time to re-explain topics you don’t understand. There are a variety of clubs, but they aren’t extremely popular. Students aren’t very social, lots of dances aren’t attended by freshmen. There are no sports offered. Homework load is doable but still pretty big. There are lots of worksheets in math classes and lots of essays in other language arts classes.
The School of Science and Engineering is a great school and is really efficient at preparing its students for higher education and eventually real world occupations. Overall, the teachers are really invested in the education of their students and really care to see their students be successful later in life. Almost all of the teachers and really well-educated and extremely qualified in their fields of study. The School of Science and Engineering allows students to take rigorous, high level academic courses that puts them at a level higher than most other high schools in the city, state, and nation. One thing that I would change about the school is that there are very few teachers who do not have the same teaching capabilities as the other teachers and are, therefore, limiting the students’ academic potential in certain subjects.
