I've attended SCPA from grades 4-12. I've never felt out of place because everybody is so accepting! I've found both my arts and academics teachers supportive of my growth, and as a visual arts major, I've had many great opportunities to meet and receive feedback from successful artists. My instructors have provided me advanced professional preparation for college and a career in the arts. One thing I wish could be different is more support for collaboration between majors. I'm friends with many drama majors and we've had discussions about doing performance art together, but did not follow through because it is difficult to find the time and resources to do something like that without a starting platform like our school.

I have gone to SCPA since the fourth grade. I feel college ready, and the school really tries to help you figure out what the next phase of your life is. If I were to give a criticism, it would be that sometimes the school can be a little disorganized, but overall, it is an excellent opportunity to explore your art in high school!
SCPA is a wonderful place. Each class size is actually quite small so you will become comfortable with and get to know your class. In general, it is a place of good feeling- for the most part, everyone really gets along and shares a great sense of humor.
Of course, the arts here are amazing. I still cant get over the joy of seeing world class instrumental, drama and musical theater productions- done by the same people I sit in pre calc with. The theaters and resources here are amazing.
Yes, SCPA has room to improve on some aspects of its academics, because of the difficult balance between arts and academics at an arts school. But there are some amazing teachers here. In fact, my favorite class here is not my major, but chemistry.
Coming to SCPA was possibly the best decision I've ever made. I will forever cherish the memories I have made here.
