Being a student in such a small school has this huge advantage: Each student has a plethora of opportunities to meet with teachers and ask for some extra help! In the beginning, it seemed like such a unbearable challenge with the rigorous course loads and the many morning quizzes, but later in the year, that sense of preparedness and accomplishment made it all worthwhile. I was too busy focusing on the sheer amount of work to notice that I was improving and gaining confidence in my academic abilities at such a fast pace! I am forever grateful of my choice to become a White Tiger!
My first year at SAS was amazing. Thanks to the students and faculty at this prestigious institution more opportunities were available to me such as club positions and developing a better more personal relationship with the teachers here. All the teachers here are amazing, if your child struggles with writing or math the AP Lang/Lit, and Precalc/Calc AB teachers are available during office hours and make tutoring available to all students. Moreover, office hours are a great opportunity to get to know the staff at the school. Despite the lack of clubs, the clubs the school does have are interactive and cater to the interests of all students.
Through its extensive selection of clubs, activities, and courses, the School for Advanced Studies supports students in their pursuit of achievement. Another factor contributing to this school's excellence is its partnership with Miami-Dade College. In addition to our high school education, we are enrolled in college courses to further our interests and professional goals. With only four teachers, the assistance and support we get enable us to develop and progress. Overall, the School for Advanced Studies is a great place for students who desire to learn and be part of a tight-knit community.
