School for Advanced Studies Reviews
Rating 4.74 out of 5 34 reviews
School for Advanced Studies is the number one public school in Florida and number four in the country. Because of this school, I am graduating with my high school diploma and associate's degree for free. I am incredibly advanced in my academic career finishing two years of college in my junior and senior years of high school. The professors and counselors are always there for their students, ensuring they are on the right path and constantly aware of what's happening. They kindly answer your questions, have tutoring in the morning, and care about one's mental health.
It is definitely a competitive school and can be very stressing at times, but that's mostly because of my procrastination. It has always pushed me to do better in my academics. The school is divided into different Miami Dade College campuses so the classes are less than 200 kids making the students closer to the administration. Counselors are always providing scholarship and grant opportunities. Part of the school allows you to take dual enrollment classes in the college to ultimately complete your Associates for FREE! These classes have personally allowed me to gain insight from around the world and expanded my knowledge regarding my future career.
My experience was definitely life changing. My colleagues and I worked together to survive the challenging courses, specifically the AP courses they provide. They provide AP Calculus AB/BC, AP English Literature/Language, AP U.S. History, and AP U.S. Government/ Macroeconomics. When it comes to the Dual Enrollment courses, they are mostly generic since they are required credits in order to graduate with your Associate of Arts, such as Speech and Music Appreciation. Once you have all the basic requirements, you can then take Dual Enrollment courses that are related to the major of your choice. Overall, it was a challenging 2 years, but it paid off.
