School for Advanced Studies is a school like no other. It allows for you to be yourself while expanding your knowledge in various subjects. The teachers are very caring and will always help you with whatever questions you may have. And if they don’t know the answer to the question, they will do whatever in their power to at least help you understand. The people in the school are very diverse and helpful when it comes to assisting you with school, resources, or even your own emotions. All in all, I am more than glad that I applied to School for Advanced Studies because it has opened up so many opportunities that I would never have gotten at any other school.

SAS is very stressful, but overall a great school. With teachers, it's generally hit or miss, but students are still being exposed to a rigorous curriculum. Include exclusive AP classes, SAS students are required to take at least 3 courses at Miami-Dade College per semester. By the time graduations come around, students will graduate with both their high school diploma and their associate's degree. The coursework is heavy but it's definitely worth it.
Before joining this school, I was afraid since I was leaving the comfort of my old high school to join a school with people I didn’t know. Upon joining, I was greeted with the warmest of arms. At traditional high schools, I never had the proper chance of getting to bond with teachers. At SAS, I was able to sit and have a laugh with the teachers while also getting to know them outside of the classroom. In the mornings we took college classes that set us up for the rigors of university. For high school, we even had a class that helped us prepare for university by finding which majors interest us. It was an amazing experience I look back to often.
