From Scecina Memorial High School

Scecina Memorial High School provides an affordable, high-quality private education that incorporates community service, a diverse student population, and global awareness.

Scecina, established in 1953, is a Catholic college and life preparatory school that motivates a diverse and gifted community of students to attain educational excellence, be lifelong learners and live as servant-leaders in the inspiring footsteps of Father Thomas Scecina.

Scecina is rated A by the Indiana Department of Education and offers 38 Advanced Placement and dual-credit courses to earn college credit. The student-teacher ratio is 17 to 1.

Scecina awards nearly $1 million in merit- and need-based tuition assistance each year.

Most students participate in extracurricular opportunities - clubs, 20 state-sanctioned sports, and the arts such as Rock Band and theatre.

The International Student Program welcomes students from around the globe and gives local students a glimpse of the world beyond borders.

Scecina’s student body is 41% Hispanic or Latino, 40% Caucasian, 12% African American or Black, 4% International, and 3% American Indian or Multiracial. Students are from 90 different previous schools and all over the globe via the International Student program. Scecina’s English as a New Language program serves both international students and local students whose first language is not English.
