From Scattergood Friends School

Scattergood Friends School was founded by Quakers in 1890 and continues to be guided by principles such as simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equality, and stewardship. The integration of these Quaker values in our curriculum provides a rich and varied set of experiences, bringing forth the strengths of each individual and preparing students for higher education and life-long love of learning.

We believe in meeting each student where they are and working together to expand knowledge, develop skills, and build confidence. Middle and high school students receive core instruction in social studies, science, language, and mathematics. Alongside this foundational coursework, students engage in a variety of humanities electives, visual and performing arts, and physical education classes. Additionally, Scattergood’s farm, pond, and restored prairie serve as living laboratories which further support the curriculum and enhance the learning experiences of our students.
