Let's start with positive: The classes are pretty good, overall I'm not complaining about the academics. Some teachers good some teachers not. The activities aren't bad either: there are a variety off things you can choose from. There are many sports, but the sports teams kinda suck...ok well I guess on to the negatives
The music, all of it, is extremely boring and the teaching is redundant. Also, There is no diversity whatsoever, literally everyone is a rich white kid. asians, Hispanic, black people sprinkled here and there. No one is unique and that is what makes this school extremely boring.
Despite this, the safety is good. There is a security guard who stays near the door for the whole day, watching and making sure we're all safe. There are fire drills and lockdown drills to make sure students know what to do in emergencies. I would say that the one thing this school takes seriously is safety, and thats great.

I was a CHOICE student at Scarsdale Middle School. Though middle school is not really the highlight of anyone's school experience, I think that SMS prepared me well for high school. I also think that the CHOICE program was a good opportunity to explore a type of education outside of the norm before I entered higher education.
Scarsdale Middle School is a good school. The average class size is 20-28 students. My child had 28 students in a Math class. There are some great teachers and a few bad teachers. There is very limited diversity. Most students are tutored so student achievement is not reflective of the quality of teaching.
