Truly an amazing place to go with active parent involvement, fantastic community opratunities, and serious focus on improving students' individual arts areas consistently over the years.
I would prefer larger facilities for the school however. Being a private school require audition only entry, which while sensible for an arts school, limits their funding. Regardless, having to rely on baren cement practice rooms, one of which I broke my arm in, is unfortunate.

This school not only helped me grow academically, but pushed me to learn more about the arts and engage in them more than I had before. The teachers are unique, passionate, and above all encouraging and helpful. Combine this with students who are willing to explore and think outside of the box and you are bound to be successful. I would most definitely choose this school again, as I personally loved the small atmosphere as it allowed teachers and students to become familiar with one another and learn each other's interests and even strengths inside and outside of the classroom. Being involved in such a community has fueled my interest in the arts and in this aspect it is unique, alongside being recognized for stellar academic performances.
The only thing stopping me from giving 5 stars is the fact that some teachers, most definitely not all, are stuck in traditional, older, teaching styles and as a result do not go above and beyond but have rather average expectations, which at SCAPA seems to be out of place. However, on the other side of this are engaging, creative, and passionate teachers that really do care about their students and their success. SCAPA's small, family-like atmosphere is one that gives students the encouragement as well as resources to succeed inside and outside of school, whether it be academics or in their art form.
