From SC Governor's School for Arts & Humanities

At the SC Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities, young artists from across the state explore and refine their talents in a one-of-a-kind, arts-centered community while gaining pre-professional training in Creative Writing, Dance, Drama, Music or Visual Arts.

In the tuition-free, residential high school program, students learn from established, practicing artists while receiving a nationally recognized academic education.

Governor's School students are consistently honored by organizations such as YoungArts, the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, Youth America Grand Prix, Music Teachers National Association, and U.S. Presidential Scholars in the Arts.

Graduates receive millions of dollars in scholarship offers to attend the nation’s top colleges, universities, and conservatories and become leaders in the arts and many other fields. Esteemed alumni include South Carolina Teachers of the Year, Tony and Grammy Award winners, Emmy nominees, and a Webby Award winner.
