I think that academics wise we are doing well, I'd like to see more involvement or maybe even more fun after-school activities.
Savannah Early College is a great high school for students who are looking to graduate high school with college credits. This school focuses more on academics and not extracurricular activities. The staff pushes you to persevere and strive to do your best. This school will not give you the average high school experience as you see in movies or at other schools. The many other benefits make up for the loss of typical high school experience. In the end, you will graduate high school well prepared for college.
My experience at Savannah Early College High School was like no other. As a high school student, we were able to attend classes at the local college and receive credits for our college career. Overall, I enjoyed my experience there. I was able to do activities like any other high schooler as well as get college credits. The only thing that I wanted to happen was more sport being added to our extracurricular activities.
My Experience with Savannah Early College was an absolute breeze. I love my school entirely so much. From the day I walked in for Open house I knew It was the perfect high school to attend out of my entire city. Being a student at Savannah early College is an honor in which I was bless to have. I was happy to have made lifetime friends and mentors while being apart of my high school family. If I had to choose the best part of my entire experience at my school it would have to be the dual enrollment life on campus. It really gets you out your comfort zone to be introduced to a new experience that you may be nervous about but you enjoy every bit of it. You really have to make Early college What you make it. If I had to change anything about Savannah Early College I would personally give all of my students an opportunity to be celebrated once a month because of the accomplishments they keep up during academic years. I will forever be a Caring Cobra! I'm Happy I made a family with SEC.
Savannah early college is a very great school. When you reach your junior year you will be able to take college classes at Savannah State university. Those college credits that you earn at the university can be taken to another college when u graduate from high school. Which means u save money for college which is always a good thing.
The program allows you to earn up to 60 credit hours.(The move on when ready program changes to House Bill 444 which would then limit the credit hours to 30)
At Savannah Early College, it is very different from other high schools. The school focuses more on college readiness and not the typical high school lifestyle. Even though I’m a junior, I have gotten a great experience of college life as a dual enrolled student at Savannah state university. I also have enjoyed my time thus far, even without all the other essential high school things.
In early college they teach you to become a leader and to know what you want to be in the future. They also have a great academic record. In the school they make sure you get the things you need to get done, done. The staff is determined to help you succeed in life, and in your future.
My experience at Early college is wild. I have experienced a lot and learned a lot of life lessons. It is preparing for real world, though it is quite stressful at times.
Savannah Early College is a school meant for someone who works hard and intends in only working hard. It is a compact community and the classrooms are typically not full.
I would like this school to have more activities, just so we can have the true "High School Experience".
Savannah Early College is a school that will get you ready for college and will help you with your high school journey. SECHS is a school where teachers take there work seriously and they make you work hard however you will find yourself having a fun time working hard. The teachers at SECHS are amazing they push you to do your best. The only downside of savannah early college is the lack of sport on the other hand students are going around the school and taking the initiative to start a petition to have more sports. In conclusion, SECHS is an excellent school you could choose to attend to get great grades and have a good time.
It’s a decent school if you don’t care about extracurricular or any sports or the typical high school experience. If those are important then it’s not the right school for you.
Savannah Early College is a very small school and classes are fairly small too so anybody wanting to go to a small school this would be a great choice. The Dual Enrollment program here is great and I would have to say its the best out of Chatham County because we can actually go to the university and really experience what college is really like. Some activities and sports are limited at Early College but the activities we do, do here are fun and a great experience.
It was a nice experience being that the dual enrollment to an actual college campus (Savannah State University) via free transportation is very beneficial. Being dual enrolled allows highschool students to gain college credits that knock off a year or two from their college of choice once they graduate from highschool. The teachers at Early College are helpful and the staff are very open minded. There is a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community in which there is zero tolerance for bullying and everyone uplifts one another to do better and to graduate. Going to early college also increases GPAs due to the college classes if students exceed in them, and there is also time for fun such as cross country, tennis, prom, and field days. There are also nice clubs to join such as journalism club, yearbook club, and photography club. Going to tutorial is also highly advised so that students can help one another.
Savannah Early College is a great school for a child who is focused on academics. If the high schooler would like to have a big social life and participate in regular high school sports and traditions, the school may not be for them.
This is a great school if you handle a large work load and have hopes to go to college. Personally I think the school needs to do better with time management and communication with students and parents.
