Saugatuck treated me very well! They worked with me to graduate a full year earlier than I was expected to, which helped me reach my goals of getting into the college I am currently attending. The reason I did not give it 5 stars is the lack of focus towards the arts programs. The art program is great, however there is barely any theater program. There are no great facilities for the performing arts students because of all the money poured into the football stadium and other sports equipment. The band is absolutely incredible for the size of our school, however the facility and equipment do not match the size of the group. Other than that, my experience at Saugatuck High School was great!

One of my favorite things about Saugatuck would be the size. It is a relatively small school which I like a lot. I feel like I know everybody in almost every grade and I think that brings our school community a lot closer together. Another of my favorite things about going to SHS would be the different extra curricular activities that are offered. Because Saugatuck is a small school, there are not
copious amounts, but there are quite a few that spread over a broad range of different fields. The small population at the school allows for students to participate in lots of different extra curricular activities. If I did have to change one thing about SHS, it would be to include more classes that would dive into different subjects more than offered now.
Saugatuck High School is very small, but it allows students and teachers to grow closer, and give each high schooler a more personalized experience. Although it may seem that not many AP classes are offered, more and more are being added each year. Overall, it is a very nice building and the teachers are very good at engaging their classes. The school is very safe, with friendly officers always on duty at and around the building. Sometimes, it can seem like the school is too small, and there is almost no diversity, which would be great for the school.
