Saugatuck High School Reviews
Rating 3.65 out of 5 83 reviews
Saugatuck High School is very small, which is great for building close relationships with classmates and teachers, but comes with a total lack of diversity. Overall, the school encourages creativity and tries to prep students for their future, whether that include college, trade school, or the work force. One of the best parts of the school is the staff! There are multiple teachers that took the time to get to know me, and I had a lot of fun getting to know them!
Going to Saugatuck High School was absolutely one of the better choices I made for my education. The small student size allows for everyone to feel included, as well as welcomed by all of the staff there. Graduating classes are pretty small, but honestly I never minded that, I found it pretty nice to have smaller classes as you get to know peers and staff much better.
Saugatuck treated me very well! They worked with me to graduate a full year earlier than I was expected to, which helped me reach my goals of getting into the college I am currently attending. The reason I did not give it 5 stars is the lack of focus towards the arts programs. The art program is great, however there is barely any theater program. There are no great facilities for the performing arts students because of all the money poured into the football stadium and other sports equipment. The band is absolutely incredible for the size of our school, however the facility and equipment do not match the size of the group. Other than that, my experience at Saugatuck High School was great!
