My time at SVHS was better than I had expected. Despite having a couple of normal mishaps and hiccups throughout the 4 years, I truly think SVHS had some of the best teachers, and it was a privilege to be taught by some of them. For the most part, I believe they wanted their students, myself included, to be best prepared as could be for higher education and future endeavors. And perhaps the one thing that distinguished the high school from the rest of the school district lied in the faculties' commitment for the student's needs. If there is one thing that I learned throughout my experience with SVHS, being yourself is important, and so are the teachers and students you will meet. When education is at its best, it speaks beyond pencil and paper. It was truly a pleasure to be part of SVHS, and I wish their faculty nothing but the best!
I like how it’s connected to the middle and elementary school so we have chances to connect with the younger kids and push them to try out new experiences. Something I wish would be improved is the decisions of the administrations being more geared towards helping students succeed better in school. I also wish that more effort was being put into the arts departments and that they got equal recognition when compared to sports for their achievements.
I am currently a sophomore at Saucon Valley High school. I love the school and the teachers, as they know how to prepare us for college. However, what I don’t like about Saucon Valley is that as a new student, it’s very hard to make friends. The students are unwelcome and are often very “clicky”. I also don’t like how most of the high school is obsessed with class rank and gpa. Although this aspect is important for college, it affects high school greatly because students take AP classes just for the extra credit and don’t bother to really learn the material. Super competitive students and teachers who encourage this behavior really make the high school experience unpleasant.
