I liked my experience at Sartell Senior High School. I think that the school dynamic in general is very academically focused, which I liked because it pushed me towards success. Athletics is also a very large part of our school; many people aim to thrive both academically and athletically. I appreciate all of the opportunities that Sartell High School has given me, since that often is not as easy in a public school. Some of the opportunities that I have had was shadowing multiple PAs/Physicians for my Health Careers class, going to the St. Cloud Surgical Center and watching a surgery for my Advanced Sports Medicine class, and taking a plethora of AP and college class while in high school. Overall, I would say that I was satisfied with my experience at Sartell High School; if I could chose to go there again, I would. I believe it greatly benefited my personal and academic growth, and I believe it did the same for many others in my class.
My parents and I moved to Sartell when I was five so I could be enrolled in the school district. I loved the district when I was in elementary and middle school, but I have seen more problems throughout my high school career. The teachers and education are good, but us students have a lot of pressure put on us to do well. Athletics are valued more than the arts and it is abundantly clear, even if athletics do not perform well. Up until recently, Sartell has not been very diverse, and some students are very close-minded. Teachers are very supportive, but the high school needs to focus much more on preparing their students for post-high-school options and opportunities.
I really love the environment of the Sartell High School. I feel very fortunate to attend a school that encourages all of us to do our best. The teachers are very encouraging and genuinely want us to all succeed. I also really love all my classmates, everybody created a safe welcoming environment that made every day a day that I wanted to happily attend school. Sartell also offers many classes that cover a wide variety of topics. I have been fortunate to find my future career with the help of these interesting classes. I have taken classes anywhere from forensics, to a CNA course, to Health Career Explorations. If it wasn't for these classes, I would be lost on what to do in the future.
