I have enjoyed my time at Santa Rosa High School. The culture at Santa Rosa High School has been built on the traditions of diversity, resiliency and school pride. I have been a three sport athlete since freshman year participating in football, basketball, and track. Santa Rosa offers challenging courses that continue to expand my education. Our school offers a variety of clubs and extracurricular activities to keep us engaged in our community and our school. We are the oldest high school in Sonoma County and continue to show our school spirit. The lessons I have learned at Santa Rosa High School will help me develop into the person I want to become.
I've been at Santa Rosa High School for two years now and it has been an overall positive experience, but there are flaws. I am in the ArtQuest program--currently with vocal music--which I enjoy and have made many of my closest friends through.
My favorite part about the school by far, though, is the community I've found on the Track & Field and Cross-Country teams. I joined track in my freshman year and the team culture is wonderful, encouraging and one of the only reasons I wouldn't leave the school.
However, SRHS has many academic flaws. A math-centered student, I am far from challenged in my Math 3 class. Honors math "classes" aren't really an option; rather, honors students take the same class as all of the other students with 1-3 extra homework problems per day and more challenging tests. I plan on taking my math classes through the Santa Rosa Junior College for the rest of high school and do not recommend this school for any students who are strong in math or STEM in general.

I am a senior at Santa Rosa high this year and I have been attending it since freshman year. I really quite like it for a high school. Being the only high school I have attended, I don't have anything to compare it to, but I think its nice. I've been lucky and had truly amazing teachers, but there are also a fair share of bad teachers. I really like the school's spirit, tons of people dress up each spirit day and really have fun with it. Being in downtown and next to a kind of sketchy school, Ridgeway, it's not the safest school, but I personally don't feel unsafe. I am in the ArtQuest program and I have really enjoyed it. I think it's a really special program. The food it the gross food wrapped in plastic that come is the trucks, but I think it's like that at most schools. As for administration, there have been some problems with the current people. They are very hard to get ahold of and often won't listen. One big downside is we barely have recycling and there's NO COMPOST!
