The academy pathways offered at Santa Paula High School are very helpful. The Health & Human Services Academy, in particular, provided me resources in college preparation that helped me understand the college application process, and helped me find a suitable career path, while providing me a rigorous academic course list. In addition, the school's instructors are very patient, and work to improvise using the resources that they are provided with to give every student a fair, quality education. If there's one thing I could change about this school, it'd be the quality of the restrooms; currently, there is only one student restroom, the newest ones built, that look as if they've been maintained consistently. Additionally, I would add built-in air conditioners to the classrooms that don't already have them (which is most of them); the lack of air conditioning in these classrooms is a burden to all students and staff during days when temperatures are especially high.
Since I'm a freshman enrolled for the 2020-2021 school year, I was never able to set foot on the campus as an actual student. However, I still managed a few hours of exploration. Santa Paula High is beautiful. It's modern, but built through the preserved bones of a historical Santa Paula area. All the indoor tile floors are glossy, but right outside there are thick, crumbling slabs on concrete that our grandparents likely walked over. Somewhat similar to the student body-- many of us are first generation, while others have grandparents and great-grandparents who attended class in the same rooms.
The majority of my teachers are dedicated to their craft, even through Zoom and email. Sent questions are often responded to within minutes.
Class is very personal, full of questions and personal stories that teachers use to make positive connections.
All in all, it's a positive experience and one that I'm glad to be here for.

Personally I only experienced one full school year which was my freshman year. My sophomore year, I was only in school up until March then we went into quarantine due to COVID-19. While in school, the staff were great. The school alone has a lot of heart. When school was virtual this last year, santa paula high tried their best at making students still feel at home. Teachers and staff were so patient and thoughtful of everyone. Santa Paula High School has love everyone who steps foot on campus and is a home for anyone who attends.
