I love how diverse Sandalwood is and how there is a little bit of everything for everyone. There are clubs and programs that fit right for everyone and their interests and if there isn't, students are able to create their own club! I love how the teachers at Sandalwood really care about their students and truly try their hardest to make sure everyone passes and have an equal opportunity to succeed! However, I do feel the guidance counselors could try a bit harder in making sure all of the students meet all of the necessary requirements and having a better access of communication with the students. There isn't much effort being put into the students until it is the last minute or ultimately too late. Other than that, everything else is great!
I had a great time in sandalwood high school! I have been attending here since my sophomore year and it has been really nice. Sandalwood high school is one of the only schools in Jacksonville that offer Dual Enrollment and Early College, which is getting college courses/ credits for free! Of course, every school has its downsides, like fights and drugs but it all depends on the student that you are. I am a girl who cares about her grades and doesn't hang with the wrong crowds. If you just remain persistent, get involved, and give your 100% you are sure to succeed!
My experience on the first day at Sandalwood was pretty terrifying! I was a scared little freshman who couldn’t find their way around the school. Luckily, the staff was very helpful and kind about every question I asked! Throughout my three years at Sandalwood, I have learned so much and have met so many people! So far, Sandalwood has helped me grow academically and socially! I am very glad to be a student at Sandalwood High School.
