The majority of students here lack effort. I came in for my sophomore year and took all General Education because I couldn't get my freshman transcripts in on time for registration. Worst mistake of my life. The only students who seem to give some essence of effort are the kids taking as many AP/Honors classes as they can handle. Everyone else is only there because they're required to and couldn't care less about the actual education. It's a bad environment for someone like me who loves learning and values their education. Once I switched over to AP and Honors I had a much more positive, welcoming, and valuable experience. The teachers and counselors are amazing and they are the best attribute to Foothills hands down. It's mostly just the students that caused issues for me.
My only other complaints are that sports and activities other than football get very minimal funding, there isn't a very wide range of electives to choose from, and clubs don't get a lot of recognition.

What does it actually take to be a sabercat? In my four years I can tell you with full confidence that to be a sabercat, you need to be a leader. Be the reason for inspiration, be the reason for change. At San Tan Foothills High School, I have formed amazing friendships with my classmates, teachers, and administrations. It serves as a place of comfort and a strong foundation for growth. Although new to the Florence district, I have seen this school transform from a pitiful one to a school I am proud to be a part of. It's not your regular high school, it's not a place where you feel lost or isolated, It's a school of greatness. The teachers care about their students, advanced and honors classes prepare you for the future, and clubs such as gaming club, art club, AP and honors club, NHS, that serve as sanctuaries for students where interaction and creativity is promoted.
What I like about San Tan Foothills High School is the determination in creating a safe learning environment and the compelling school spirit. Teachers help their students in every way they can to ensure their students' academic success by offering lunch and after school tutoring, face-to-face conferences, and online assistance through e-mail. Though there are still places for major improvement. This school is head over heels for sports and athletic achievement, which is great, but it excludes both the liberal and visual arts. Sports is all you see and hear in the morning announcements, assemblies, and in the hallways. There is never an announcement for the small clubs for art and writing, and when there is it is brief and quickly forgotten. Being a nerdy and artistic individual, I would like to see some more appreciation for the arts and academics as well as some improvement in exposing and motivating the creative groups in this school. But overall, this school is a nice place.
