From San Juan Diego Catholic High School

San Juan Diego Catholic High School opened in August 2002 after Archbishop Gregory Aymond recognized the acute need for Catholic college preparatory education in Austin. SJD is modeled after Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in Chicago, where students work in entry-level internships in the corporate world to earn part of their tuition.

Through small classes, challenging academics, and a corporate internship, students receive the personal mentoring necessary to become excellent students and well-rounded individuals.

My daughter received a great education at SJD. One fascinating aspect that only SJD offers here in Austin Texas is the Corporate Onternahip program that they offer to each and every student. This has helped her drastically become successful after high school. Teachers went above and beyond to make sure she succeeded in all her academics. Environment was great, it felt like a family. My daughter was also very active in sports, and she enjoyed each and every one of them! Coaches were excellent! Overall I would definelry recommend San Juan Diego Catholic high school! You will not be disappointed!
Review San Juan Diego Catholic High School
The Corporate Internship Program & Entrepreneurship Class are what set this school apart from both public and private High Schools. Students earn a college prep education, gain 4 years of corporate internship work experience and learn to run their own business. The small student to teacher ratio allows for greater one on one attention from the teachers. The corporate sponsors support their student interns with their college resumes. The class of 2017 was offered over $1.7 million in scholarships and financial aid with only 35 in the graduating class. 1 student received the Mitte Foundation scholarship worth $10,000 per year. This school is the best kept secret in Austin and with it's Brand New Facility on South 1st and Oltorf, opening in January 2017, I predict that there will soon be a waiting list to attend! I am so lucky to work at such a great high school.
SJDCHS has been a positive and uplifting experience for my children. They are held to a high standard and are given opportunities to participate in many different sports and activities. The internship experience is invaluable and unique. The religion and constant teachings of how to live as a caring, supportive, and responsible teenager is evident everywhere. The small classes enable the students to be a known individual rather than a number.
