I liked the environment while attending San Jose. Unlike other public schools, San Jose is much smaller and everyone knows everyone which gives you a chance to connect with a lot of people including your teachers which was a very pleasing experience.

San Jose is a relatively small school with absolutely wonderful teachers. The teachers make sure that the kids understand the material and will have open note tests. They're very lgbt supportive and have a counselor on site. It houses kids from 6th grade to 12th.
When I went to San Jose Preparatory High School, the first thing I noticed was that they didn't have as big of a focus on standardized testing as public schools do. For me, that was a big deal because the school I went to prior to going there put preparation for standardized testing above all else and as a result, I struggled. The teachers at the previous school didn't really attempt to help me and the ones that tried, did a poor job at it. That wasn't the case at San Jose Prep. The teachers there put their focus into making sure we understood the content and that we could applied it. They also had our futures in their best interests.
