An absolutely lovely school with a warm, kind, welcoming community. We were looking for such a community when we toured schools since we found that so many schools in Marin have top-notch academics, but they don't always pay close attention to the social/emotional development of their young students. San Domenico purposely considers both. Our son feels challenged academically while feeling supported and valued. He is so engaged with the curriculum--way more than I was at his age. I wish I could go back to school. And the campus! Gorgeous and peaceful. It smells like redwood trees.

We've been impressed with San Domenico on several levels. You can find excellent academics in other schools in the Bay Area, but few that truly help kids find meaning in their work--it isn't just achievement for achievement's sake. The community of parents and teachers is highly dedicated--parents actually talk to one another! Plus indexed tuition means a sliding tuition scale; it's not a loan but more like you pay what you can afford. Take a tour!
The best part about SD is the community and the opportunities! Even on my first day in high school the people made me feel like I belonged and fit in. This was very different than how I felt at the public middle school I attended. At SD the students and teachers made me feel so welcome and now I have so many new friends. I also like that I can play on a lot of the sports teams and really talk to the teachers and they seem like they really hear what I have to say. Like how they listen to our ideas about clubs and special events. I think all students should come check out San Domenico. The way the teachers make you think about questions not just for school but for life, is really important.
