I love how inclusive and diverse my school is. There isn’t much cliquey-ness among people who participate in different activities, and many people do sports as well as music or technology extracurriculars. Although we may still need to work on school spirit, our school definitely has a sense of community despite us not having a winning record in a few sports. The music and theatre departments are phenomenal! If you or someone you know wants to be in a high quality performing arts program where anyone can succeed if they work hard, Sammamish High is the place to be. We have 4 award winning choirs and one of the best high school campuses in the state. We also have a hiphop club, environmental activism club, robotics club, glee club, etc. Robotics went to the Worlds competition about a year or two ago, which is a hige achievement. Our school even has a Glassblowing class in a brand new studio! The school just got rebuilt 4-5 years ago, so the campus is beautiful, practical, and useful.

One of Sammamish's titular aspects is its exceptance of diversity. Teachers, Staff, and many community leaders are eager to bring the school together and form a tight well-meaning community. If you are looking for a school where you won't stick out for just moving in, or your race, or sexuality etc, then this could be the place for you!
A few noteworthy weaknesses in Sammamish. The first is athletics. We do have some decent sports teams, at the time I went, we excelled at Girl's Basketball and Tennis, but beyond that we lack. I also thought the school was a little TOO zealous on it's 'diversity and all acceptance' policy. There's also a dying sense of... community, you could say. You have the school pushing acceptance and diversity but meaningful school gatherings like dances, events for entire grades, and fairs that involve parents more have died out.
Sammamish High School is such an amazing school. There are so many opportunities to get connected with the other students and the staff and I love how diverse Sammamish is and how even though we may all come from different backgrounds we still have a strong sense of community. I also feel like there is something for everyone, we have award winning art and music programs, we also have many different clubs and if non of them are right for you, you can always start your own club. Sammamish also has sports although we are lacking in a few sports we've actually won multiple state championships in girls tennis, girls golf, and gymnastics. There are also classes that Sammamish offers that are so unique like the nursing program and our hot glass blowing studio. Overall I think Sammamish is a good school and anyone would be lucky to attend.
