Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts has been such an amazing high school experience for me. I have been able to train intensely in classical modern, jazz and ballet dance. The faculty at the Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts are beyond amazing. They make sure you are getting the tanning you need in order to be successful in the field of performing arts you choose. This school is not like any other high school. This school makes everyone feel wanted, loved, noticed and truly believe in themselves. Every school needs improvements and I would love to see SLSPA have a better staging set in the theater and dance department. For safety I would love to see each student have a badge that will allow them to unlock doors into the school during school hours, that way we don't have to walk all the way from the back parking lot to the front doors to get to class. Overall SLSAPA is amazing and I have enjoyed every second of my time here at SLSPA!

What an amazing school! I have never met a more dedicated and passionate group of individuals who are dedicated to their craft and working in education. These teachers are inspiring mentors to the students. The students as a whole are caring, compassionate and consumate performers. It is not uncommon for individuals or groups to break out into song, dance or just plop down on one of the many pianos in the halls and a mini concert begins. It is a welcoming place.
I transferred in my Junior year here and, while the student and faculty members are for the most part very warm and welcoming, it's probably best to enroll as a freshman.

Each student takes their core classes at the neighboring Highland Highschool, so the academics are a bit of a mixed bag- ranging from AP/IB to CTC to credit recovery classes. You get what you put into it, I suppose.

SLSPA classes are wonderful, in any and every capacity of art you so choose. Join knowing which art you want to flourish in as a profession, and things'll be great.

Yes, students are very cliquey and yes, the only food available directly on campus is in the temperamental vending machines- but I would still choose SPA again in a heartbeat.
