Sallisaw High School is a great place. Of course there are some things that could change. All of the organizations that I am in have become like a family to me. The FFA/ agricultural community has welcomed me into their home and has given me a place. The FFA has prepared me for the real world in ways that a normal classroom setting could not. I am involved in speech, land survey, judging, and I have done floriculte in the past. I am presently about to start speech season with my agriculture family. In ways, Sallisaw can be better. For instance, they could offer more foreign language classes other than spanish. They need to offer more classes in general because some high school students, like myself, already have careers or majors that they want to persue and the schools that we go to do not offer some of the classes that would be beneficial to that career.
Sallisaw High School is a great high school. It has amazing teachers that are truly interested in your education, and the school spirit is great! You can always find someone who is willing to help and they do it with great tutoring programs and extracurricular activities. Also, the class sizes are great and the teacher to student ratio is fantastic. Overall, the school and its faculty are great. I enjoy my school!
I came to Sallisaw for high school because the athletics were the best chance for me in sequoias county with baseball and football but I came to see that the academic opportunities were also the best too with concurrent classes and all the pre-AP classes and AP classes that they offered. I liked almost everything about the school. What I think they should change though is they should bring back semester testing exemptions. They say they do it because they want to prepare us for college exams but it’s high school and we should still be rewarded for the good we do.
