I loved my high school experience in Saline. The building itself is beautiful with lots of natural lighting, which was really important to me since I suffer from seasonal depression. The music program is amazing and I greatly enjoyed participating in the marching band and wind ensemble. The academics are wonderful! There were at least 10 students in my graduating class that graduated with a 3.99 or 4.0 GPA. Our football team was super awesome too - it made being in marching band even more fun! I was so happy the year that we made it to the state finals - I was able to march on Ford Field. I also got to travel to Disney World with the marching band and perform in a parade there.

I am very lucky to have grown up in the community that I have. I feel like I have been set up for success ever since I was enrolled in Saline Area Schools, which was in kindergarten. I have been in attendance of Saline High School for the past four years and I have had some awesome experiences. What I love about Saline is how everybody knows one another. Walking through the halls I basically know everyone that I pass.Having is a student body that is connected with one another is important because it makes people feel as if they can reach out to others and feel comfortable in the environment in which they learn. What I also love about attending Saline High School is how passionate our teachers are. I think Saline teachers stand out from other teachers because they are always wanting the best for students and making it known that they are available if the student needs help. What makes Saline High School unique is it is always improving. My sophomore year of high school the school had received new decals and flags throughout to show what types of clubs and sports we offer, along with world flags to promote culture. This year, my senior year our media center was transformed into next generation classrooms. These classrooms allow classes of all different types to work in a more comfortable environment that consists of swirly chairs, couches, and chairs that lay back. We are given laptops to do our work and everything is turned in online and assignments are presented to us online. T.V.s are also in place instead of white boards and chalk boards to show us what we are doing for the day. I think the next generation classrooms are a great idea, and I think that every school should have the chance to experience them.

I wouldn't change my school or high school experience at Saline High School for the world. I have had a great time in high school and cannot wait to see what college has to offer!
Saline High School is an exceptional school run on a trimester system which allows students to take a wide variety of classes during high school. The AP courses are extensive and are taught using a strong curriculum that often results in 4s or 5s on the AP Exam. There are many consortium classes offered. The school is large enough to offer many specialty classes such as environment, computer science, drafting and technical classes, culinary, etc. I would like to see even more AP courses offered at the high school, especially starting at the 9th and 10th grade level.
