Students foster an unsafe and awful environment for minority students. If you are not white, straight, cis, conservative, etc, you will be bullied and harassed relentlessly. The administration does more to cover up problems than help their minority students feel safe in the school. I reported many transgressions and they went unsolved and swept under the rug. Your voice will not be heard unless you are of the majority. Awful school.
This school was very enjoyable to attend, because the people were friendly and nice. The teachers are understanding and teach their subjects. The science and math departments are especially nice. My only complaint is that there are not as many advanced courses here as other high schools of this caliber. Due to this, I could not take as many advanced science and math courses as I would have wanted to.
Quality of classes varies from teacher to teacher. Very sports and agriculture focused. Food is subpar. Some of the staff is kind mean. Not horrible overall.
Overall the school has many caring teachers but it does not usually seem like administration has the best interest of students in mind, especially during COVID-19.
Its amazing the teachers are hard working residents of the town that will help you on a personal level. The coaches are amazing they will change your life if you allow them the school is clean and well organized!
With Salado being such a small town, the class sizes are very small. This makes it very difficult to obtain the title of top ten percent. A good fifty percent of the teachers are helpful and try to help their students succeed, while the other half seem not to care at all.
I liked how teachers can form genuine connections with their students. I did not like the obvious favoritism that can sometimes be present within the school.
This school has never had very good luck with English teachers. Sports are taken so seriously here that all the money goes to the football team rather than what they should really be putting money toward. I also just feel like there's something wrong about the school. For a small town and a small school, you wouldn't expect as many tragedies as we had to experience: suicides, car accidents, student-teacher relationships, and so on. If you don't like your personal life to be spread around like wildfire, then Salado is probably not your best bet. Although, I do have to admit, the academics and the competitive nature of the school is exceptional compared to other schools. The students are pretty well behaved and respectful, as well-- at least to the teachers.
I have gone to Salado since I was in kindergarten. Saldo is your average small-town school. In salado there are lots of oppourtunities to grow and express yourself. Our fine arts programs are one of the best and I was apart of the 2018-2019 State Champion One Act Play.
Salado HS was a good experience overall. While there were changes in the admin over the years, education was certainly more prioritized. The academics in the school are great not only when it comes to core classes but also when it comes to clubs.
Although Salado is very successful, the quality of teachers are atrocious. There is most certainly a need for new teachers that care about the education and well being of their students. I think I can count on one hand the number of "good" teachers. Along with these terrible teachers, they do not prepare you for college at any level at all!
I loved my experience at Salado High School as far as academically. My classes were challenging and I believe prepared me for my upcoming college courses. My teachers were encouraging and supportive throughout my entire journey in high school. I would like to see a change in the extracurricular aspect in my school. I believe that rewards are given based off of who you know rather than your skills and accomplishments.
I love the small school aspect, but it is also in a small community where people don't get out a lot. Change is very hard here because everyone in both the school and the community are very set in their ways.
Teachers are amazing! I am enjoying this experience with the teachers and students. I am doing better here than any other high school.
Salado is a small class 4A school. There are small class sizes with great teachers. I love the small school atmosphere and everyone knows each other. Friendships are built on trust.
I loved how small it was when I went there. Although there were lots of clicks, everyone knew everyone else.
Salado High School has extremely high academic standards, and many students are pushed to their full potential. Most students are involved in several extracurricular activities. Overall, Salado's achievement is above average, through academics, sports, and most other activities.
