From Saint Peter's Prep

Each day, students from throughout the region cross paths at the corner of Grand and Warren Streets in Jersey City. Some have walked a few blocks. Some have ridden two or three trains. Some have arrived by car. Whether they have traveled from near or far, all have reached the starting point of a much longer and more meaningful journey. These young men are unique individuals; their backgrounds as diverse as their interests and their hopes for the future.
Together, inspired by outstanding teachers and coaches, and guided by the proud tradition of Jesuit education, they form a tight-knit community and strive to become "men for others," adults who will not only excel in their chosen fields, but become true leaders through their call to serve. The lessons learned and friendships forged here will remain with them wherever their paths may lead. That's why we say it's not just Prep for four years...it's Prep for life!

My freshman experience was far from great. I found a lot of students to be very obnoxious and they seem to treat minorities differently from everyone else. The teachers are at best mediocre, academics can improve, all this school does is focus on sports, there’s literally no room for other talent WARNING: EVERY THING HAS TO BE ABOUT SPORTS AND IF NOT IT MUST HAVE SOME SORT OF CONNECTION TO SPORTS. I’ve also experienced racism and being outcast. I also don’t like how it’s an all boys school where everyone has the same interest: sports and rap. There is Zero diversity in this school, it’s sad to say, and everything is bias but no one even realizes it. This school is definitely not fit for me, and I can’t wait to reapply and get into my top 2 hs choices to leave this preppy community.

Prep is an amazing place and they truly turn you into a man. School spirit is extremely high (shoutout Marauder Nation) and students care for one another. There is a competitive atmosphere academically and athletically, and students are definitely pushed to achieve their potential. Staff and administrators really care about their students despite the strong disciplinary tactics (which I hated at first but then learned to appreciate). By the end, you really feel like your a part of a big family.
