Saint Mark's High School Reviews
Rating 3.99 out of 5 144 reviews
What an amazing college-preparatory high school. Our children graduated from this great school, one even earning a full academic scholarship to a nationally ranked university. We couldn't have asked for a better experience for our family. The students are amazingly well prepared for the next steps in their education. The beautiful campus is unequaled in the state of Delaware and the number of clubs and organizations available for the students to join is larger than any of the other schools that we looked at before deciding to attend St. Mark's. The school also excels in its ability to serve students from all academic needs from its Emmaus program designed for students that can benefit from extra assistance with the learning process all the way through its Saint John Neumann Scholars Program and many levels in between. The co-ed experience and the Catholic values were a big plus for us. I can highly recommend it to anyone looking for an overall solid well rounded high school experience.
Our teen started at Saint Mark's as a Freshmen this year. Despite the pandemic, it has been a smooth transition academically. The faculty and staff truly care about the students. This is evident in the level of communication between both student-teacher and parent-teacher. There are many ways to get involved beyond the classroom- sports, clubs, performing arts. Safety has been a top priority especially due to COVID. Students' emotional well-being has also been a priority. In fact, the school brought in therapy dogs for students and the administration hosts Spartan Strong Days for classes to bond. Once the pandemic is behind us, I think the experience will only get better and better!
They make the school seem like it's really nice but in reality it's not at all. They let in pretty much any student that applies, and it only focuses on sports. There is no attention to the arts whatsoever, and they will literally hire any teacher that applies no matter how ineligible they are. Honestly this school sucks, and the only reason I'm giving it two stars is the food is amazing and my theater experience has been really fun.
