SFDS has been a great school for my 4 children. My oldest started at SFDS when she was in kinder. She graduated from high school with high honors and and is now a Neuroscience major at USC. SFDS school has given her the start she needed. The lower grades have the most nurturing teachers and the progression is appropriate. The classes have 35 students in each grade with 2 teachers per grade until middle school. SFDS has taught my kids to be well-rounded offering sports and cheerleading. The school attends mass and the students are active in giving back to the community. Over the years I have seen academics evolve and the use of smart boards and IPads in all of the classrooms have been beneficial to their high school experience. Parents are required to do service hours which has been a great community builder. If you are looking for a school with great academics, sports, and community you will find it at SFDS.
I've been at this school for six years. It prepares you well for high school and makes you well-rounded. The down side is that there is not a distictive change from elementary to middle school. There definitley should be a change so the students can face reality. The food is excellent and there is a large variety of choices. The community is very welcoming. They are very good with safety as well as internet saftey.
St. Francis is a great high school environment and allowed me to connect with many of the guys in my class. The brotherhood created by St. Francis Is strong and felt by all students.
