Sacred Heart of Jesus School Reviews
Rating 3.78 out of 5 9 reviews
Amazing school! Their curriculum is outstanding. Most of the teachers have a deep devotion to the faith and are very passionate, which shows in their teaching. It is a very friendly, though small, community.
This school is a waste of time and money. Though it has good math courses, it does not offer anything extensive in science and there is a great neglect and near hatred of technology. The staff are under-informed and most of the teachers cannot do their jobs properly; there are some great teachers, but the bad outweigh the good. This school also does not feel safe. The food is a health hazard because young children help the parent volunteers distribute lunch to the students. People get sick after every hot lunch day. There is no sense of school pride or community here. A lacking of club activities is a great contributor to this. The school also lacks normal high school events such as homecoming and prom. It does have two dances, but most people do not enjoy attending them.
This school does some things better than anyone else, for instance the humanities (history and literature), latin, and theology. The kids read REAL books (not textbooks) and teachers help them learn to think.
Unfortunately the science program is terrible. There is too much philosophy in the science classes and too little science. Students copy work from the blackboard and there are almost no labs. It is bad.
