Despite creating a stressful environment at times, Rye Country Day exposed me to opportunities I never knew existed and helped me develop into a better student. The teachers really care about their students and there are venues for anyone with a passion to explore that passion further. As a soon to be alumnus, I highly recommend this school!

In my time at Rye Country Day, I can attest to the ups and downs. Independently, I think Rye Country Day is a fantastic school, but it does mirror the same elite, privileged culture with the expectation of wrath as most Westchester private schools. The academics were excellent, and I found teachers and administrators who were willing to support me. I believe the administration knows how to handle the students, and in my experience and were always ready to help. Jumping into that social climate is difficult if you aren't already a part of it, I won't lie. You can't change how entitled and privileged the kids are, but you can make the best of your academic experience there, which can make it all worth it in the end. Maybe I didn't have the best experiences socially, but there are teachers and specific classes that made each day special.
I started Rye Country Day School in fourth grade, and have enjoyed every day since. Rye has allowed me to explore every possible interest I could imagine, from playing lacrosse, to studying mandarin Chinese, and finally, pursuing my passion for music. While the population at Rye Country Day is smaller than the average institution, I believe it has a balance of diverse individuals with a multitude of different interests. Not only this, but I have been able to find my corner of the sky at Rye, in music performance.
When it comes to academics and college readiness at RCDS, I without a doubt feel prepared to take on the next level of academic rigor in whichever courses I choose to enroll in. While there may have been some nights that I was up until 1 am completing what seemed to be endlessly long homework assignments, I am happy that my teachers at RCDS taught me how to invest my time in hard work to see great results, and encouraged me to try new things and challenge myself.
