My school embodies a safe network of officials, teachers, and student body that enables a comfortable learning environment. I was very fortunate to have universal access to the resources, opportunities, and networks that my school has to offer and for any student, it really is just a means of showing interest and working for something in order to get an awesome opportunity. Of course, qualities such as the rigor of the curriculum, the effectiveness of the teachers, the pace of the environment, and the energy of the students in the classroom really establish a sense of preparedness for college and university. I would characterize the community at rye country day involved by hosting many spirit events, inviting art performers once a year, being active in involving neighboring towns with support services.I have formed close relationships with some teachers that goes beyond academic means and have supported me mentally and emotionally.

RCDS continues to be an outstanding school for my children. One child graduated and is fully prepared for a rigorous program at a top university, and my other child is thriving in RCDS's Upper School (high school). Like most siblings, they have very different skills and interests that they have cultivated at RCDS. Students can excel in many areas, including theater, sports, leadership, public purpose and STEM. It's common for the head of the soccer team to sing in the choir and to perform in a play. It's an inclusive environment and students can be who they want to be. We feel fortunate to be part of the community.
As a graduate of Rye Country Day, I can definitely say that there were many ways in which the school prepared me for my time in college. The academically rigorous work was certainly one of the big reasons as to why I have been able to succeed so far in college. However, there is certainly room for improvement; the way that issues on diversity are handled at RCDS needs to be improved. The current Director of Diversity is doing his absolute best to work on this issue, however through lack of effort from other faculty members and from a large amount of students who simply do not care because of their privilege, there is much work to be done. Thankfully, in my time since graduating, and in the time since the current Director of Diversity has been in his position, there has been some improvement, leaving me with hope that the school is headed in the right direction.
