I have loved being a student at Ruston High School! I am so thankful for all of the opportunities Ruston High has given me. I love being a member of the Bearcat Motorsports team, the only Louisiana high school team to compete in the Shell Eco-Marathon. I am also a member of FBLA, NHS, and Keywanettes.

My experience at Ruston High School was an afflicting yet rewarding experience. Because I was in mostly honors courses, a lot of the time I found myself being challenged but I was able to overcome those obstacles. My overall experience between the football games and pep rallies though, was something that I will never forget. Friday nights during the fall season were my absolute favorite. Though, I must admit that my high school was not very diverse. One of my main concerns throughout high school was the fact that there was very little teachers who were not Caucasian and the dress code rules were extremely strict and heavily enforced. Other than that, I have enjoyed my high school experience as it has come to an end due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ruston High School offers many AP classes or college-credit class for you to choose from. Other than that, they let you choose your pathway, it's either TOPs or Jumpstart. Our football team is really good and the school really lifts up our spirits with the band on Bearcat Fridays. During football season, we have pep rallies almost every Friday at the end of the school day. Our cafeteria food is basically the same as other cafeteria food.
The teachers are very caring and nice, and most of them have their sense of humor. RHS has a variety of sports and clubs you could join. Other than the basics, it offers volleyball, tennis, powerlifting (girls), and swim. For clubs, there's plenty of choices so that any student can get involved. The languages that are offered are Spanish, French, and German. RHS gives you the opportunity to graduate as an Honors Graduate. The years will end up going fast and like any other school, it's fun when you let it be fun.
