It's a good school with overall very good educators, a good administration team, the academic programs are encouraged and typically do well as far as grades go. Student culture is strong, accepting of others and tolerant of others. Foreign exchange students have begun to come in to the school, giving the student population more diversity.
I moved to Rusk in the second grade. Ever since I’ve been here, throughout the years, the teachers have been really helpful in preparing me for the future. They are very dedicated to us and help in any way possible. During my high school years our counselors try their very hardest to educate us on what classes we have to take and what we want our majors and future career to be after we graduate high school. All of our teachers strive to make us the best we can be, you can really tell because they give 100% to us. The only thing I would change is the dress code there a little strict but they have a good reason. All in all Rusk high school is a great school to be in.
My experience at Rusk High School was very poor. Most funding was sent to the athletic department. The administrators could not make up their minds on which rules to follow. They even tried to change the school handbook that every student and parent had to sign before the school year started halfway through the year. I disliked the school so much I graduated a year early. I would not recommend you or your children attending this school, and my children will certainly not be going here.
