I adore how Rush-Henrietta Senior High School has an inclusive, diverse and flourishing community. Not only is the building itself very accomodating, but the staff that runs it is absolutely amazing. It would be difficult to pass down the hallway without receiving a pleasant greeting from one of them. Additionally, the school provides students with a wide variety of academic material to choose from, such as challenging courses like AP Chemistry or AP Government, to fun classes like Cinematic Literacy or Forensic Science. This coupled with the many extracurriculars the school has to offer (such as various sports teams, a wide-variety of clubs, etc.) allows students to thrive and grow as human beings.

Rush-Henrietta Senior High School was voted as one of the top ten school districts in Monroe Country, and they definitely deserve this recognition. The teachers and faculty members truly want to see their students succeed, and can relate to kids in a personal way. The diverse population consists of students from all parts of the globe, and clubs attract students of all different interests with involvement in various different areas. Roughly half of all students in their senior year have taken at least one Advanced Placement course, and a large portion of students between sophomore year and senior year will earn their place on the High Honor Roll. The school offers PSAT, SAT, and ACT prep along with various programs for tutoring. The Rush-Henrietta Senior High School hosts numerous events that get the entire community involved, making it feel less like a school and more like a family.
As a whole, Rush-Henrietta Senior High School is a great school. But, I would love to see a college readiness course. To my knowledge, the high school currently doesn't offer one, and if they do, it isn't well known. Based on my own personal experience, I feel as though this school doesn’t do a good job at preparing the students for college. Sure, they offer AP classes and the option to take classes at an actual college, but when it comes to the actual applying for college part, we are left alone. Our counselors recommend that we go on Naviance and complete the Common Application, but that doesn't help us fill out FAFSA forms or even fill out scholarships. I think that if RH had a college readiness course, one that would teach us how to write college essays, how to build a resume and fill out the FAFSA forms, it would be very beneficial to the students. Aside from this, I do think that RH is a great school and a great district.
