In my four years at Ruben S. Ayala High School, I have met so many new people and so many great teachers! For the most part, faculty is very nice and helpful. The rallies are my favorite times throughout the year because my friends and I get to come together to celebrate our progress through high school and almost being done with high school! This year is extremely high is spirit for us since it is our senior year and college is approaching quickly! Overall my experience at Ayala High School has been very pleasant and I have loved my time here. Everyone is very involved on campus and there are so many cool clubs to join. Our principal is super nice too. Go bulldogs!

I have genuinely enjoyed high school. The only issue I have faced is the lack of equality between the performing arts and athletic programs. My choir teacher has to take sick days whenever we go to festivals, even though these are technically "field trips." Moreover, our program has to fund the bus transportation fees to and from these festivals. The transportation to games for football, soccer, and numerous other sports are funded by the school or district. Our band spends hundreds of thousands of dollars to travel, compete, and fund its events. However, they too are not granted the courtesy of getting their buses paid for. It is unfair treatment and not justified, as we are top ranking programs. I feel strongly that this needs to be changed, and that the district should be required to fund programs equally.
My experience at Ayala High School was average, a normal high school experience. Ayala is supposedly the best high school in our district, but in reality, it is the same as any other high school. The only thing everyone cares about is the sports. That’s why they give a lot of money to the sports teams but not the performing arts programs, even though the band is one of the best in the country and our sports teams aren’t that great. The teachers at Ayala aren’t the greatest. Most of them don’t even teach their classes the right way because the teachers been here for years that they don’t really care anymore, so they give out more busy work than work that can help us practice the subject. The diversity at Ayala consists of mostly asians and white people. The only people that students can talk to is their counselors.
