This school is fantastic. The teachers are so invested in the students and the support from counselors and administration is wonderful. Here's the down side: If your child is not academic or struggles with some learning disabilities or isn't a competitive, please don't send them here. The blow to your child's self esteem will far outweigh the love and support they get from the Rowland Hall staff. This is a competitive college prep school period. If your child struggles academically they will suffer emotionally in this environment. The last thing you want is for your amazing precious child to feel "like a stupid loser" because their classes are too advanced for them and most of their peers are exceptional learners priming for Ivy League or top 10 colleges. On the other hand, if you have a smart motivated kid and a hefty bankroll this will be a great choice for your family.

Because Rowland Hall is a small private school all of the students are able to get the one-on-one attention from all of their teachers which is extremely helpful since the curriculum is challenging. I enjoyed my 4 years at Rowland Hall because everyone was very welcoming and were willing to go out of their way to help you. The thing I enjoyed most about Rowland Hall was that the staff enjoyed getting to know the students which created a welcoming environment at school. Having good relationships was important for me because it made it easier to approach my teachers if I needed any help or had any questions about an assignment or test. Overall, Rowland Hall does a great job of not only preparing their students for college but also for life in general.
My daughter just completed three years of middle school at Rowland Hall. She has now begun at the Upper School. From sixth grade through eighth grade she had an amazing experience. The teachers are the best part of the Middle School. Each grade has teachers that are engaging, caring and enthusiastic about teaching and learning. The academics and the electives offered are exceptional.
She was able to participate in several sports, learn 3D art, ceramics and computer programming. Rowland Hall also has a wonderful Ethical Education program. Teaching the kids about kindness, empathy, appropriate social behavior and various other subjects. The teachers and administrators care deeply about each students emotional well being. I feel her time in the middle school has prepared her well as she begins her journey through the Upper School. I highly recommend Rowland Hall.
