Rowland Hall is an independent school in Salt Lake City serving 1,030 students in preschool through twelfth grade. Driven by our vision of inspiring students who make a difference, Rowland Hall sets the standard for teaching and learning excellence in a warm, inclusive environment where students form meaningful relationships that cultivate confidence and self-discovery. Transformational academic and co-curricular programs, including experiential learning opportunities, self-expression through the arts, and a competitive athletic program, ensure students are challenged both inside and outside the classroom. In just the last five years, Rowland Hall Debate has produced nine State Champions, 16 National Qualifiers, and 12 Academic All-Americans, and sent dozens of students to college on scholarships. My 7th grade twins are in their first year at Rowland Hall and we are beyond pleased with their experiences. The strength and rigor of the academics are met with full attention to the social and mental wellbeing of the students as well. The wide range of electives in tech, science and the arts has allowed them to explore so many new subjects. In addition, the attention given to women's sports has been awesome! I would so highly recommend Rowland Hall in every single way. The administration and student body combined foster an incredible and inclusive community that truly inspires achievement, growth and happiness.

Review Rowland Hall

Rowland Hall is amazing! The teachers are engaging and the sense of community is unbeatable. High level academics are balanced with a great art, music, and dance department. One feature of the school that really stands out is the college preparatory program. Not only do they encourage the students to lead the application process, but they also provide incredible support through meaningful experiences to help each student find his, her, or their dream college. They are extremely experienced, possess great knowledge of all of the different campus and testing options, and have developed important relationships with many of the colleges. I am thrilled that my kids were part of this outstanding school.

We absolutely love Rowland Hall! Our kids were at a nursery-12 independent school in Sandy for four long years which was ill-run and had attrition in the triple digits. We were beyond relieved when our kids all finally got into Rowland Hall! If you are from the East Coast or any cosmopolitan area, Rowland Hall offers what you are accustomed to and looking for. Don’t be fooled by big suburban campuses that don’t deliver. Rowland Hall offers a challenging yet age-appropriate education, truly experienced educators, and a campus located in an area where relevant educational extension experiences can be easily enjoyed by the students. The community is welcoming and it is such a relief to be part of an open-minded school with no predominant religious influences. The teachers offer regular extra help and are truly dedicated so the bulk of the campus is not at constant tutoring. There are tons of fun community building activities as well as many interesting class trips.
