My daughter just completed three years of middle school at Rowland Hall. She has now begun at the Upper School. From sixth grade through eighth grade she had an amazing experience. The teachers are the best part of the Middle School. Each grade has teachers that are engaging, caring and enthusiastic about teaching and learning. The academics and the electives offered are exceptional.
She was able to participate in several sports, learn 3D art, ceramics and computer programming. Rowland Hall also has a wonderful Ethical Education program. Teaching the kids about kindness, empathy, appropriate social behavior and various other subjects. The teachers and administrators care deeply about each students emotional well being. I feel her time in the middle school has prepared her well as she begins her journey through the Upper School. I highly recommend Rowland Hall.

Overall, I'd say my experience at Rowland Hall was overwhelmingly positive.

In terms of academics, my experience with the history and English department at Rowland Hall really helped shape the way I think and perceive the world. These departments are truly exceptional.

Most teachers are absolutely amazing. Not only are they great educators, but they also changed my life.I'm so happy to have gotten to know and learn from them.

I took a STEM-heavy course load here, and Roho is a little behind. In terms of math and natural sciences, we're fine. In terms of Computer Science, we really don't know what we're doing (and the teacher is truly incompetent).

In the social/cultural aspect, the people here are amazing and are the primary reason I was so sad when I left for college. I love and miss all the friends I've made here, and I think they're just genuinely great people.

I'm eternally grateful for the education I received here and the people I met here.
I had a mostly excellent time in elementary school at Rowland Hall. As soon as I went into middle school, it became terrible. I was bullied, tripped in hallways, called names, excluded, and had people tell me I was "stupid, fat, and ugly" and "didn't deserve to go to this school and should leave." I reported these incidents to the administration and they did not lift a finger. I have mental health issues and was forced to go to an assembly in the middle of a panic attack. The teachers are excellent and I loved most of them. My friends and I could eat lunch in their classroom and watch historical movies with our history teachers. The majority were kind and supportive and a learned a LOT. The school calls themselves "diverse", but we had a grand total of about 7 people out of 62 who were not Caucasian. I had to leave because it was so toxic. Send your child here with caution.
