Ronald McNair Magnet School Reviews
Rating 4.25 out of 5 4 reviews
Ronald McNair Magnet School has an amazing performing arts program. For a fact, McNair is the best middle school for the arts. McNair is an A rated school. It is also the only middle school that has a dance team. McNair has a college prep class called AVID, which stands for Advancement Via Individual determination. That is what I love about McNair. What I would like to see chance is the cafeteria food. Meaning less processes food and more home made foods.
The teachers are excellent, especially in the gifted program. There are also good opportunities if you're interested in musical theater, dance, and other related programs. Unfortunately, it seems that students are detached from the administration and the guidance counselors are not very attentive - in fact, you wonder if they even exist. It's also located in a pretty rough area. The school has gone on lockdown more than once and there's been gunshots in the area on multiple occasions. It's also not too clean and the people aren't always nice but it's good for education purposes, if you're focused on school and actually care.
Ronald McNair Magnet Middle School is an amazing opportunity for 7th and 8th grade students. The students all have access to the STEAM Magnet programs as well as Gifted/Accelerated and Performing Arts programs. Many students go on to the Cambridge Program at the neighboring Rockledge High School. Teachers, administrators, counselors, and staff are all working in the best interest of every student.
