I am a recent graduate of Rockwood Summit. During my time there I was involved in the school newspaper, marching band, winter guard, NHS, symphonic band, Renaissance committee and Link Crew. I took numerous AP level classes to prepare for college and was in the honors track for academics. I think my time in high school will be remembered as four years that I changed mentally, physically and socially. My senior class was disrupted by Covid-19. All of the fun things we looked forward to were cancelled but our school district got creative and provided a drive in style graduation and it was amazing! The community came together and had a parade for the seniors where the teachers lined up in parking spaces and the seniors cars wove in and out of the lanes to say goodbye. I think what started out as a disappointing last semester of high school ended up as my most memorable because of how special everyone tried to make it for us.

I loved my experience at Rockwood Summit highschool! What I really loved about it was that my school and community were so close. There was about 1300 kids in my school so our modo was "One Summit" as in we are one and will work, learn and serve as one big group. The support from the community and school with any kind of activities was outstanding. Our community was able to form a group called the "026 Army" which is basically the last 3 digits of our Zipcode at our school. This group was made up of our students, parents, and fans from the school. I also really loved how much they prepared me for life. My teachers were an amazing help when it came to preparing for college. I learned so many valuable lessons in that school. One thing I would change about my highschool experience would be to slow down and take it all in. I say this because my 4 years went by faster than I knew it!
I had an incredible experience at Rockwood Summit High School. The school had a competitive and encouraging academic environment. Teachers were supportive and inclusive. They facilitated a quality learning environment and pushed students to do better.
Rockwood Summit also had a strong career development program. Counselors assisted students with choosing colleges. Career exploration was facilitated by allowing students opportunities to talk to professionals in different career paths - from avian, veterinary medicine, firefighting and STEM fields. A Career Day was incorporated in the curriculum that allowed students the opportunity to spend a day shadowing a professional in a career they had interest in.
I really have no major complaints about RSHS. Students were valued and student/parent involvement was encouraged. Overall, it is an excellent school.
