There were excellent teachers when I attended. It is a very small school in a small county and funding is an issue. Because of the tight budget, our school did not have much to offer for academics. For example, the only science classes offered were remedial science, biology 1/ap, and chemistry 1/ap. The math classes offered were, remedial math, algebra 1 & 2, geometry, and pre-calculus. Our teachers found ways to nourish our minds with out-of-class experiences by creating clubs for students to attend. I was always thankful for those gifted experiences they provided on their own time.
I personally had (for the most part) an enjoyable high school career. Although our school isn't very wealthy and doesn't offer everything in the world, they do very well with what they have. Just about every teacher there is happy to teach and see students exceed, going out of their way to pay for needy students or give personal tutoring. In recent years they has offered more to students and more unique classes, such as having criminal law classes, HVAC, and I just found out about a podcasting class. The school itself is decently kept, although I have seen a mouse before. Having mostly older teachers who are happy to tell you what life and school were like in their day. Our sports teams are decent, and our band(not this year) is great. I really wish the food was better though, that stuff really is something else. I would say that it really is nice how all the teachers know each other, and you are likely to be known by all the teachers. Personally, I'm happy with my high school life.
What I liked about Rockwood High School was how focused they were on our education. They really wanted to see us all succeed and do something good for our future. They were really encouraging and helpful to all of us. They were encouraging to us students to get out grades up and make good grades. Whenever we needed help with something there was always someone to help us. Something I would like to see change in Rockwood High School is to allow more freedom for the students. They should make some of the rules less strict. That is what I think about my school.
