I was worried about applying to Rockingham County Early College High School at first, but I later discovered it was a great choice and a great opportunity. The teachers and staff members here have a strong connection with the students. Although there is only a handful of teachers and staff members, they are constantly sending emails, making phone calls, and creating announcements to provide information to the parents and students. Despite this challenge, this school goes through obstacles and remains organized for the benefit of the students, and this is shown during this pandemic situation. The advisors were great and were always ready to provide information for graduates or students with questions, while they also stayed in contact with college professors to keep information and forward any questions to them. Overall, the connection and organization here were amazing despite so many setbacks and challenges. This great opportunity was one of the best choices in my life.
Rockingham Early College High School was very hard, especially freshman year. We didnt feel like normal high school students because there was not a band, chorus, sports, or any of the traditional high school activities. Looking back now, there is never a second of going here that I regret. I was challenged to determine who I was and who I wanted to be. The school molds you and prepares you for college and life. All of the students are here because they want to be, not that they have to be. I would reccomend anyone to go here!
The teachers and administration are great! Opportunities are also great in preparing for college. The campus is beautiful. The only downside is you have to go to zonal schools for sports which isn't really a downside because you stay connected to others outside of classes.
