Rockingham Early College High School was very hard, especially freshman year. We didnt feel like normal high school students because there was not a band, chorus, sports, or any of the traditional high school activities. Looking back now, there is never a second of going here that I regret. I was challenged to determine who I was and who I wanted to be. The school molds you and prepares you for college and life. All of the students are here because they want to be, not that they have to be. I would reccomend anyone to go here!

I enjoyed my overall experience at Rockingham Early College High School, as I got loads of help from teachers who were more attentive to students' personal needs. The teachers offered support and helped me through personal as well as academic struggles during my time there. I felt like I mattered to the staff at RECHS instead of just being another number, another student. Overall, the only thing I would change would be the attention given to the needs of the upperclassmen (or 12th and 13th graders), as some of the rules and regulations imposed on us were not considerate of personal complications (i.e. we were made to "check in" everyday with our assigned staff member even when we had no college classes, meaning some students wasted up to an hour of gas some days just to walk in for 10 minutes and then leave). Despite this, I still enjoyed my experience at Rockingham Early College High School and would recommend it to anyone seeking a rigorous but enjoyable high school experience.
It’s been a joy to attend Rockingham Early College. Essentially, you have to learn to live in two different environments: high school and college. Many teachers at my school strive to challenge the opinions of students, creating an intellectually rich atmosphere. Students have a great deal more freedom than at a normal high school. Overall, my experience has been superb.
