Rockhurst is a high school unlike no other. The teachers are caring and will actually teach you. The community is absolutely the best thing as every one is there for each other. Plus, our sports are quite good! There are also many opportunities for electives that students can take. One of the downfalls though is that their history program definitely needs a lot of work and most of the teachers partake in some kind of sport, however that does not diminish their teaching skills. Overall Rockhurst is a good place to be.

Rockhurst has this amazing talent to create an environment to challenge intelligent kids. At the same time, they are able to help the students that struggle a little bit more. At first, I thought it would be weird to not go to school with girls everyday, yet whenever someone asks me about it I kind of totally forget that it is an all boys´ school. No matter the day, I know that I can go and ask a teacher for help and that he will actually want to help me learn the material. Yes, grades are important, yet learning the material is much more sufficient. The school is able to set each individual up for their future, whether that be college or a job straight out of high school.
My Rockhurst experience has not been up to the par of the reputation the school holds. The school in my opinion is that it is basically another well-funded public school that is a little more traditional and unconventional. In most cases that it is not bad at all; however being very traditional becomes a hindrance when it comes to education at the school. I struggled to actually learn in most of my classes because they were very simply poorly taught. Many of teachers in the school value performance way too much and some even forget that their job is to actually teach their students. The school overall has stuck to the hundred year old style of education where it is run like an old factory. Although, there are some hidden gem teachers in the building that do nothing less than excel at their jobs. The school, from an administration standpoint, is governed like a middle school with very little freedom for the students while calling itself a college preparatory school.
