What I like about R.J. Kinsella Magnet School of Performing Arts is that you get to try something new. Some things that I've tried in this school is different styles of dances. Some of those types of dances that I learned were ballet, contemporary, jazz, waltz, cha cha, tango... etc. It is nice to say that I know alittle of these dances and one of my favorite ballroom dances is waltz which I might wouldn't have known if I didn't take this class at this school. Something else that I learned to love at this school is costuming. Taking those classes made me realize that I want to study fashion design in college and my dream job is to become a fashion designer.

I have had a wonderful experience attending R. J. Kinsella Magnet School of Performing Arts. I transferred from my local school system at the start of 6th grade and have attended until now, with my graduation soon to happen. The best part about my school is the variety of students from very different parts of Hartford County and backgrounds. I would never have experienced that in my local school. R. J. Kinsella also gave me a chance to build my academics to a level that I am proud of.
I've been in Kinsella since 4th grade. My elementary and middle school experience was great. Now I'm a senior at the high school and my feelings has changed. Hartford, CT has been having huge budget cuts and its been reflecting on the local schools such as Kinsella. Entering the high school we were told that my graduating class would be the first in our new building. We've failed to find a new location for it and they've threw us into a beaten up building we've been calling a school. In the past 4 years, more than 5 teachers have left and our building is starting to fall apart. Whenever, you hear Kinsella people are quick to brag about how great the middle school is and failed to acknowledge the high school.
