Riverstone is a wonderfully unique school where students feel a sense of community, enjoy small class sizes, have meaningful class discussions along with close relationships with their teachers and are exposed to amazing outdoor experiences. Riverstone has been a truly beneficial place for all three of our children and has given them all a feeling of self reliance while providing a community that they feel very much a part of. We feel so fortunate that Riverstone is in Boise and that we can educate our children in such an intelligent, engaging and openminded forum while preparing them for college and beyond. Riverstone is a gem!
Review Riverstone International School
This is now the most difficult high school in the state of Idaho and it definitely has its reasons, but the education and the time and the struggle were all worth it. The IB program is world renowned and will help anyone with their college applications. The rigorous curriculum is also great preparation for college as students from Riverstone will have already experienced what college is like. On top of that, the school provides a great environment for small-team athletics that have a great sense of community that comes with playing all the time with your friends. Class sizes are really small, usually around 30 people in each grade, and the outdoor program is absolutely spectacular. There are backpacking trips into the Idaho mountains every fall and trips during the winter and spring all over the Northwest.
We would not have our children anywhere else. We love the outdoor education program that teaches our kids life skills that our family does not otherwise know. We love the rigor (especially in middle and high school) that gets kids learning and inquiring. We feel that Riverstone prepares the student with a Liberal Arts education, so that college is not necessary to become "well rounded" rather, college can prepare our kids for their careers. This is in contrast to many schools where college is remedial, filling in the blanks that high school failed to provide. Riverstone students, in my opinion, do not have the gaps.
