I enter the school because of the "A" rating and people's recommendations. I'm searching for a good academic program and great extracurriculars; however, it did not fully meet my expectations. The honors program, aka Pre-IB program, is literally taken by 80% of the students in my grade. However, many people behave poorly. Most students have behaviors such as cheating, disrespecting, lack of participation in both group projects and individual works. It is not until full IB senior year you can actually see the smart and engaged people.
I never know my counselor until I started doing college applications. She never talked to me or anything, even if I'm in top 10, which I heard from other schools' students that their counselor helped them a lot. There are a lot of negative experiences in this school; however, there are still many amazing teachers and staffs, such as my band teacher ;) Unfortunately, many retired or quit, so... hope y'all good luck! Btw, full IB is hell. Stay alive.

Riverdale High School have various opportunities to engage in the community. There's a club for all students and student council allows for all voices to be heard. Teachers are there to give their student's motivation, advice, assistance, or just someone to talk to. Most importantly, make sure all their students are on the right path in their class(s). Counselors are always taken in walk ins when the student have questioning with their scheduling and education. Moreover, Riverdale has event(s) throughout the school year to get all students and teachers to come together and have a fun time.
One really amazing thing about Riverdale is the diversity. There is every culture imaginable all intertwined with amazing friendships. You can find people of every body type and sexuality. You can find many clubs around the school including International Club where the discuss new countries each week. There is also a LGBTQ+ club to help others feel as though they have a safe space. Teachers make sure you are included by asking what you're preferred name and pronouns are.
One thing I would change about Riverdale is the school spirit. Many of the students don't go to school games or have any Rebel Pride!
