Riverbend School Reviews
Riverbend is the most incredible place to work! As a teacher, you are fully supported to continue in professional development and new innovative ways to extend our Montessori philosophy is highly encouraged. The administration work as a solid team to ensure the success and growth of our school. The work around increasing our before and after school sports programs has been very exciting and the students are loving the new activities added. The parents play a healthy active role and the students LOVE THEIR SCHOOL. The energy around campus is upbeat, engaging and fun!
We are in our 4th year at Riverbend and have been beyond thrilled with the community, the culture of the school, the compassion of the faculty and the quality of the education. Our two young boys have benefited profoundly from the approach Riverbend takes in helping them master so many skills and in such creative ways. The mixed age class concept has enormous benefits throughout the program as our younger son learns how to rely on the older children in his class for help and guidance, meanwhile our older son has become a leader for the younger children in his class. The teachers are truly outstanding, balancing the perfect skill of compassion while still encouraging our sons to learn more each and every day. We can't say enough positive things about this phenomenal school!
My kids have been happy, engaged, and loving school ever since we changed into Riverbend for elementary school. They have been challenged or given extra help when needed, and I love that this is done in a subtle way, as Montessori is all about small group or 1-1 instruction. Also, my impression is that Riverbend did a much better job than other schools with online learning last spring. My kids had ~3 Zooms every day, most with around 5 students, though one teacher did shorter calls with only 1 or 2 students. I could hear the teachers and kids discussing material together, sounding like they were all together. Now, I can't imagine a safer school - the rooms are huge with lots of windows, every (already very small) division is in a separate building, they are changing to a lot of outdoor classes, etc. And if the state closes even private schools at some point, at least I know that the Zooms will be in small groups with teachers who truly know my kids.
