As an alumni of River Valley High School, I had a great experience. This experience was enhanced by my consistent involvement in school activities and sports, as I believe regardless of any high school one attends it is important to be involved in school life as much as possible for a true high school experience. The school district is relatively small in size, but makes for great teacher to student relationships and opportunities to be involved in more activities easier. I made many memories attending River Valley High School and would recommend supporting the school district, as I have found success beyond high school because they were able to lay the proper foundations for my readiness.

I love the environment that everyone knows everyone at our school. There are many great teachers at this school, but there are also teachers who make it difficult to learn and obtain a good education. Our school behavior policies are very lenient though which allows trouble makers to stay in the school and provide distractions. They have previously expelled people and then allowed them to come back and have also made inconsistent suspensions for the same behaviors. I feel that I am getting a great education and have a lot of great people at our school, but this is all very distracting and gives our school a bad name.
I've gone to River Valley schools since I was in kindergarten. The elementary schools are great, but the high school is awful. There is no heating/air conditioning that is stable. We have personal tablets that don't always work, crash often, and break easily. The lunches are worse than ever. No one dares to get normal lunch unless they're almost out of money on their account. There is no salad bar or healthy option, we're stuck with cheesy popcorn and Cheetos. We now have ICE time which is 40 minutes in between 2nd and 3rd hour where we go to a class to do nothing for 40 minutes or take a nap really, since there is no guarantee you'll get into the ICE session you want to.

I love the school because of my friends and that it's a small school, but RV is losing my love fast and losing teachers fast. It's going downhill, at least the high school is.
