In my experience at River Ridge High School, every year the school feels more like home to me. At River Ridge, school spirit is everywhere! Tons of clubs at River Ridge ensure that all points of interest are covered within the student body. The amount of spirit and clubs within the school can be seen inside the enormous yearbook! The teachers here at River Ridge care about all of their students, and it is evident through daily interactions as well as long term. At River Ridge I feel supported by all of my teachers to succeed. If the students don't understand a specific thing in the class, extra effort to help those who are struggling is offered and often accepted. Because of attending River Ridge, I possess enumerable amounts of confidence for my future. We students are prepared for what is to come. In the end, every student who attends River Ridge is college, career and life ready by the time they graduate.

I did not enjoy my time at River Ridge high school, I would have rathered taken all of my courses online. As a gay student of color, the environment of the school did not feel safe to me. My classmates regularly used strong racist and homophobic language, including slurs and death wishes. The teachers never intervened, even though the students were causing major disruptions in class. I left the school after a year and transferred to the community college down the road. There was a noticeable difference in the environment even though the college was only two minutes away from River Ridge. The culture of the high school was inconsistent to the otherwise pleasant small town in the Tampa Bay area.
I love this school. I have wanted to go to this school since I was little and I attended the middle and high school for the education, location, and because of the teachers and their amazing teaching!
