River Oaks School Reviews

I have attended River Oaks from the very start of my education, in kindergarten. As I grew up, the school's shine that it seemed to be coated in when I was a child slowly began to fade. I always will love River Oaks, but due to its lower funding, it was hard sometimes to accept that I didn't have a lot of opportunities. But there were several things I love about River Oaks. River Oaks has provided me with friends that I will never stop learning from or challenging to make ourselves better. I have learned to work-hard on my academics, since I am the only one who can guarantee my success. The school does ensure equality, with every student being given the same chance to shine in his or her own way. So while I wasn't afforded the same chances as some other schools, I was given the opportunity to learn about myself, teach myself to think, and I became a better person. River Oaks is the only school I can imagine myself at, and I appreciate everyone who has helped me on my path.
River Oaks is a complete joke! My daughter made A's in science and now that she is in college she says she learned nothing at River Oaks. She has had to teach herself. Luckily the Math Dept was strong at River Oaks and she was prepared in Math. Also, there is too much parent involvement. If a parent wants it, they get it (that includes grades being changed for their precious child they may or may not have earned it).
As an alumni and now as a parent, I am extremely grateful my children are attending RO. The small class sizes help both of my children achieve success in the classroom and enable them to have extra assistance in areas which they struggle . My children have been involved in multiple sports in both the elementary and Varsity level and don't want to leave the court or fields most days. Having children who are happy to go to school and don't want to leave in the evenings is definitely worth the sacrifices made for tuition. I owe a huge thank you to each one of my children's teachers and have no doubt they will be well prepared for college and life.
