The school is amazing, offering an enormous amount of opportunities for self-development and a pleasing studying environment: a lot of different clubs and sports teams; a safe space for students; passionately engaged teachers; always ready to help; an interesting variety of courses, including AP and GT; research department; thorough college preparation.
Unfortunately, there are a few drawbacks: an unnecessarily competitive, thus stressful, environment; some teachers, who are just rude and do not know what their class; and the class events organization is not quite strong enough - all the dances and fairs are just not fun.
Overall, the school is undoubtedly one of the best in Maryland at least.

River Hill is a great environment featuring top tier education, teachers, sports teams, music programs, and more! The feel of the school is wonderful, and anyone can fit right in and find something they love. School activities are always fun, and many opportunities for social events are offered. It is a great school overall.
I have had some of the best and some of the hardest times while attending this school. I have learned to spread my wings and open up out of my shell. I came in being a scared lamb and I’m walking out a fierce lion, ready to take on the world. I was challenged and pushed to always try my best. I was encouraged by the administers, teachers, peers, and family to work hard and go beyond my current abilities. I was compared with others which was often difficult, but in the end I learned to stand out from the crowd. I was able to enrich my learning by joining multiple clubs and sports, taking thought-provoking and challenging classes, and taking it to the next level by applying my knowledge to the real world at my internship. I have been so lucky to have such a large array of different, amazing experiences throughout my years at River Hill. I can’t wait to take what I’ve learned to my next stage of life in college.
