The school is amazing, offering an enormous amount of opportunities for self-development and a pleasing studying environment: a lot of different clubs and sports teams; a safe space for students; passionately engaged teachers; always ready to help; an interesting variety of courses, including AP and GT; research department; thorough college preparation.
Unfortunately, there are a few drawbacks: an unnecessarily competitive, thus stressful, environment; some teachers, who are just rude and do not know what their class; and the class events organization is not quite strong enough - all the dances and fairs are just not fun.
Overall, the school is undoubtedly one of the best in Maryland at least.

River Hill is a great environment featuring top tier education, teachers, sports teams, music programs, and more! The feel of the school is wonderful, and anyone can fit right in and find something they love. School activities are always fun, and many opportunities for social events are offered. It is a great school overall.
Some teachers are better than others. While at school you can easily see who the favorite teachers are along with the ones who try harder than others and who appreciates their students more than others.

Some teachers don't really care about the education of their students because everyday they will assign textbook pages to read, a movie to watch or just give a study hall. They get into a routine and it isn't an effective way of helping the student to achieve.

Other teachers will assign tedious work, jump around in lessons or topics, change what they said a few days later-causing confusion, and just make any interaction with them difficult. For example, one teacher is very difficult to meet with, even in class, they only stay after once a week, are never in their class during free time, and don't arrive early so students can meet with them.

A good handful of teachers won't enter any grades online until the end of the quarter- causing worry and confusing of what grade you may have in their class.

On the other hand some teachers are amazing! You can obviously see that they LOVE what they do and they love helping students! They have a fun personality, they create engaging lessons and discussions, they become more than a teacher, they become a friend too. Some teachers will come talk to you if they are worried about how you are doing in their class, or even if they just see that you are having a bad day, they make you laugh and you can relate to them! They show that they love coming to school and teaching everyday! The enter grades consistently all the time, keep assignments on track, check in on students, ask students questions, they have a very engaging and inviting teaching style. These teachers are what make a students school experience memorable!
